The pony-size Belly Dickie is made for smaller horses and ponies from 12 to 14.3 hands high. The Belly Dickie will prevent bugs from biting their belly and sheath, healing Sweet Itch, Summer Eczema, Queensland Itch - what ever you call those nasty, itchy bumps and sores. The belly piece hangs away from your pony's skin. The mesh allows air to circulate for coolness. All the hardware is nylon so it stays cool in the direct sunlight. The Belly Dickie can be comfortably left on your pony for weeks. In field testing horses wear it, roll in it, graze in it and have no problem accepting continuous wear. Their owners pop off the belly piece and rinse with a hose as necessary, and put it right back on. If your pony is a gelding, the removable Sheath Shield can be taken off for laundering, while leaving the Belly Dickie in place. The Belly Dickie is machine washable. (Don't put it in the dryer!) We recommend that the webbing harness be washed in a mesh laundry bag, to minimize tangling. |
